"Isn't Everything Poetry?" is a monthly event featuring poets, authors and spoken-word performers.
Following the guest performers and a brief intermission the stage will be open for anyone who wishes to share their work.
Doors open at 7.30 pm & admission is free.
The guests in December 2019 are Gorjeoux and Michael Haeflinger. Following the guests the stage will be open for anyone wishing to participate and share their work.
Gorjeoux, a corset wearing, KitKat loving, Ukulele playing, Queer, Non Binary Femme Goddess known for playing around with, rearranging and mashing up pop songs and originals on stages beautiful and queer, exploded into existence in early 2018 …. their previous lives wielded an unflinchingly honest storytelling style gracing stages and spaces all over europe in the form of poetry, photography, interdisciplinary performance and music - dealing with trauma, identity and the excruciating wonder of being...in a return to spoken word, Gorjeoux will drag you through the extatic highs and existential lows of her road towards self acceptance
Originally from the Midwest, Michael Haeflinger is the author of two chapbooks, Love Poem for the Everyday (2011) and The Days Before (2014), both from Dog On A Chain Press. In 2016, he released Let's Don't Be Crazy, a spoken word and music album. He is the recipient of the Rutgers-Camden Award for Community Engagement (2013), The Amocat Award for Community Engagement (2017), and a Tacoma Arts Initiative Program Award (2015). He is the Executive Director for Write253, a literary arts organization in Tacoma, WA.
Every 3rd Tuesday of the Month
Quiz Night is held on the third Tuesday of every month. It follows the traditional table quiz or pub quiz format popular in the British Isles. There are rounds of questions on varying subjects including Current Affairs, Arts & Literature, Science & Nature, Film & TV, Music & our infamous rapid-fire buzzer-round where participants are encouraged to bring their own buzzer (something handheld that makes a unique noise). There is 2 Euro charge per person with a cash prize for the winning team.

Join us to discuss the book of the month in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The book for December 2019 is the memoir "Priestdaddy" by Patricia Lockwood. Participation in the Book Club is free of charge.
Next meeting, 19 December, 8.00pm. NB - note the later start time.
We have already decided to announce the January 2020 book, which will be "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens. This is currently in hardback but a paperback will be published on 01.12.2019 We'll meet at the usual time of 7.30pm on 16 January.
